At The R.O.C.K. we understand that all of our resources belong to God and have been entrusted to our care only because of His grace. Our giving supports the ministry in accomplishing its purpose in the heavenly vision. It is our prayer that everyone who professes Him as Lord and Savior truly realizes that all we have should be at God’s disposal for the accomplishment of His purposes.
Giving at The R.O.C.K.
The purpose of the tithe is to take care of the House of God. The tithe is payment of a tenth part or 10% of your earnings. The tithe was to be taken to the Temple according to Deuteronomy 12:5-19 and Malachi:
“Bring all the tithes to the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven, and pour out for you such a blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.” - Malachi 3:10
The tithe is based upon what you earn, not what you take home. Just like taxes in secular society are used to keep the business of the nation running, the tithe is the ‘tax’ for Kingdom business on earth. We give back to God His ten percent of our income as well as any other increase He may bless us with.
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” - Matthew 6:33
We give offerings to support Kingdom vision. The offering is to be brought to God’s house for use in His Kingdom work; spreading the gospel around the world, providing spiritual and physical assistance nationally and internationally to those who are in need, community support and outreach, evangelism efforts, and foreign ministry. At The R.O.C.K. we understand that our intentional giving will help to establish a legacy of Kingdom ministry that will continue for generations to come. Through our giving we will experience firsthand how God reciprocates and takes care of those who make His Kingdom a priority. At The R.O.C.K. we:
- Give cheerfully
- Give willing in specific offerings
- Put God first in giving offerings
- Give God our best offerings
- Give in times of lack and abundance
- Consider the poor when giving
- Appreciate the benefits of giving
- Understand that giving will increase our intimacy with God
- Understand that we are making investments for eternity when we give
- Understand that when we prosper we must remain humble, trust in God and continue to give
